According to IUCN Red List population of this endemic species is decreasing all over its range. There are no estimates of its population available, but is belived to be common in some part but threatened. Threat to its survival come from habitat loss and fragmentation due to logging and agricultural expansion, apart from occasional trapping and hunting. As the population is restricted only to a small locality any small alteration in the habitat may contribute its constant decline.
