This species is distributed in the southeast Asia. In India it is found in NE Indian states. It is arboreal, and active in day and night. It is mostly solitary and omnivorous

According to IUCN Red List assessment, population of this species is decreasing all over its range. There are no estimates of its population available. Threat to its survival come from habitat loss, agriculture, logging, mining, trapping and hunting.
