Gee's Golden Langur or Golden Langur has two recognized subspcies viz. T. g. geei and T. g. bhutanensis. It is believed to hybridize with Capped Langur T. pileatus where range of both these species overlap.

Capped Langur has 4 subspecies recognized viz. T. p. pileatus, T. p. durga, T. p. brahma, T. p. tenebricus.

There is dispute over taxonomy of Nilgiri Langur. Previously, this species was put under Trachypithecus based on morphological features. Recent molecular study suggests that Nilgiri Langur is more closely related to Grey Langurs (Semnopithecus Langurs) rather than leaf monkeys (Trachypithecus). 

Kashmir Grey Langur or Chamba Langur was once considered as a subspecies of Northern Grey Langur Semnopithecus entellus, now treated as a separate species.

Terai Langur or Terai Grey Langur was once considered as subspecies of Northern Plains Grey Langur Semnopithecus entellus, but now treated as separate species. there are no subspecies recognized in this species.

Tufted Grey Langur is also known as South-eastern Grey Langur Madras Grey Langur, or Coromandel Sacred Langur. This was once considered as a subspecies of Grey Langur/Hanuman Langur Semnopithecus entellus, but now recognized as a separate species. There are two subspecies recognized viz. S. p. priam which is found in India, whereas S. p. thersites that is distributed in Sri Lanka.

South-western Langur or Black-footed Grey Langur was once considered as one of the several subspecies under Semnopithecus entellus species complex now split as separate species recently. There are debates suggesting this to be either a subspecies of Southern Plains grey Langur (S. dussumieri) or this species being a hybrid of Nilgiri Langur (S. johnii) and southern plains Grey Langur. However, it is now established that this is an entirely different species.
